My name is Tanvi Koduru, I’m a sophomore at Rowan University and a member of a local PERIOD.org chapter -- an organization that is fighting period poverty and period stigma. I am reaching out to you because we are participating in the very first NATIONAL PERIOD DAY, happening this October 19th, and we would love to work with you to mobilize our local community here in Princeton New Jersey.
On October 19th, national Period Day, there will be rallies in all 50 states all mobilizing to elevate the conversation about period poverty, and to call attention to very clear policy demands for freely accessible period products in schools, shelters, and prisons, and an end to the “tampon tax” that still exists in 35 US states. As I said, our group has taken on the responsibility of organizing the rally here in New Jersey, and we would love to invite you to be a co-host to help draw attention and attendance! Our impact is stronger when we present as a united community, all fighting for this common goal of gender equality and menstrual equity.
Here’s the campaign brief that outlines what our next year is going to look like. We would love to collaborate on all of this with you, but at the moment are focusing on building out the rally that will happen on October 19!
